Balance

Heavenly Father,

Indeed you are the Lord God almighty. May my mind drink deep of your truth. Saturate my heart with your love. Unless you are at work, my labors are in vain. Bless the tasks that you have set before me. Let me do them as an offering of worship unto you. In my toil, rest, and play, may my life bring glory to your name. Protect me from sloth and laziness. Shield me from a busyness of the soul that hinders my awareness of you. Lead me not into temptation from within or outside. Grant me the wisdom to know the right thing and discipline to carry it out. Above all else, give yourself to me. To know you is eternal life. To unite with you is the greatest joy a man may know. This world conspires to distract and beguile. Let me not be seduced by affections for temporal things. Fix my eyes on you. Teach me to live as befits a son and heir of the almighty.
