Confusion
Heavenly Father,
My heart is pulled in so many different directions. It is hard to know which directions glorify you and which don’t. I want to follow you. At least I enjoy the benefits of following you. Sometimes I genuinely have a desire for you, but I get confused thinking that the joy of meeting with you makes my desire to meet with you mercenary. Help my confused heart. You desire to give good gifts to your children, and it is good and proper for us to enjoy them. Magnify my joy in you. Let me approach you as a little child. Don’t let me overanalyze everything to the point I miss the simple pleasure of you. Make my desires for happiness, holiness, and comfort serve as motivation to seek, love, and obey you. Let me delight myself in you that the desires of my heart will conform to your will.
In the name of our great savior. Amen.
