Connected

Heavenly Father,

I long for connection with you, yet I don’t take the actions I need to pursue it. I choose so many easy distractions over the joy of your presence. Help me value you above all things. Teach me to see you in all the events of the day. May prayer not be merely a distinct action I take at set times but the heartbeat of my entire life. Let me connect with you moment by moment. Protect me from everything that would pull me away from you, whether sin, distraction, or simple apathy. Lead me not into temptation. Grant me the faith to walk in the paths you have laid out for me, carrying out the good deeds you have prepared. You are worthy of praise and deserving of thanksgiving. Fill my heart with gratitude that overflows. May my life pour out praise to you.
