Duty

Heavenly Father,

I admit this morning I come to you out of duty and not delight. But I do come. I trust you to meet with me even though my passions are cold. Give me the things I need to live for you today. Fan the embers of love in my heart into white-hot flame. Show me your glory that I may praise your name. Fill my mind with awareness of the great gifts that you have bestowed that I may offer you ceaseless thanks. Show me the error of my ways that I may repent and move into an even deeper relationship with you. Do not forsake me. I know that you are faithful from age to age, but still I worry. I praise you for your faithfulness and pray that would give me a greater measure of faith that I may say to these mountains of doubt “be cast out of my heart.”
