Forgive and Restore me

Heavenly Father,

You are the gracious and faithful God. You have great compassion for me. Yet my heart feels far away from you, and my sin fills my thoughts. Wipe out my wrongdoings. Wash me so that I may be clean. You are the righteous judge. I plead the blood of your son that you may judge me innocent. Direct my steps so that they may be blameless. Turn the allure of sin to bitter ash. Give me a perspective longer than fleeting pleasures. Even as I pray, part of me longs to continue in my old ways. I yearn to surrender my whole life to you, but I need your help. Would your holy spirit give me the strength to submit to you more fully in each passing moment. I pray that my determination to know you will persist throughout the day. May I offer up a broken and contrite heart that you may heal it.
