Forgiveness

Heavenly Father,

You are perfect; in you is no darkness at all. Though I am made in your image, I have blemishes. I strive to imitate your son, but I fall short. Teach me the humility to accept that I am a fallen human. Let me identify my character defects and place my faith in you to eliminate them. When I sin, may I not become defensive and bristle under correction, whether from your spirit or another person. Help me to quickly acknowledge my error and come before you for forgiveness and to receive the power to continue to strive to glorify you in my life. I pray that I would be content with making progress and not self-flagellate for not yet being perfect. Protect me from temptation. Take away my desires to gratify the sinful desires of the flesh as I walk in your spirit. Provide a way out that I may flee from sin to you.
