Fruit

Heavenly Father,

You are the source of all virtue, perfect in every facet of your being. This morning I pray for far more than removing my desires for sin. Give me a heart that seeks after virtue. May I pursue the fruit of the spirit with zeal and vigor. Bathe me in love from you that overflows from my heart to all the hurting people around me. Bring forth joy from my innermost being that I may delight in the life you have blest me with. Fill me with peace that can be clear-minded in the fiercest storm. Add to me patience that is content in the waiting but not slothful. Help me treat all those around me with sincere kindness that shows their true value. Make me an exemplar of moral goodness that all can see the example of Christ lived out in me. Keep me faithful amid the chaos of life, steadfast to my word, not wandering. Teach me gentleness that I may have the soft touch required to reach the vulnerable. Finally, gift me with self-control that I may resist temptations both to act and not to act. For such things, the need is great. Use your body to spread your justice through the world.
