Gifts

Heavenly Father,

You are the giver of every good and perfect gift. You have showered us with blessings beyond number. We thank you, father, yet we confess that deep in our hearts is a root of discontent. Our rejoicing in your provision is tainted by our preoccupation with momentary inconveniences and delayed desires. Show us how great your gifts are. But more than anything, show us the gift of yourself that you have so freely bestowed despite its inconceivable cost. Make our fellowship with you dwarf any earthly concern and paradoxically still gift us with a desire to express gratitude for all the good things you have given us.
