Good Friday

Heavenly Father,

On this solemn day, we come before you. Let us feel the weight of the events we commemorate today. It amazes us that you, the creator of the story, chose to include this chapter in your grand design. We marvel at the determination of Christ to give up everything for the joy set before him. We can’t begin to fathom the discipline of the Father to allow his beloved Son to become sin on our behalf and turn his back on him. We know that joy will come in the miracle of Easter, but for today we sit in the events that made Easter possible. Truly this is the greatest manifestation of love the world could possibly know. Our sins are nailed to a cross in the body of our innocent Savior. The rebellious acts of a lost world heaped on the way, every lie ever told placed on the truth, and finally, death came to the life. Flowery words fail me, So thank you.

Amen.
