Guilt and Shame

Heavenly Father,

My heart is heavy with the weight of my guilt and shame. Teach me the depth of your forgiveness. Help me to understand and internalize that I am now your son standing before you without spot or blemish. As far as the east is from the west, so far have my transgressions been removed from me. Give me a clean conscience ready to follow after you. And deal with the shame. The old man has been put to death on the cross, and the new man lives to you. I am not the one who felt the shame any longer. Show me how to have the same compassion you have for the me that went through all those things. Set me free from the past’s hold on me. In you are pleasures forever. Let me bask in you, living in this moment you have made. Ready me to receive your grace and blessing today, giving thanks in all things.
