Respite

Heavenly Father,

My soul craves rest after a long week. With the weary and heavy ladened, I come to you. Fill up all that is depleted within me from your infinite source. Give me peace to be with you in unhurried time. May I converse with you through your word, prayer, and meditation. Enable my busy mind to be still and know that you are God. Help me to listen for your still, small voice. I can feel the worries and cares of the coming week together with the regrets and failures of last week creeping into my awareness. Teach me to cast them all on you because you love me. Through your forgiveness, free me from the burden of all my sin. Let me be in the moment with you. Allow my spirit to commune with yours. Fill my mind with your truth. Fill my heart with your love. Cultivate the fruit of your spirit in my innermost being. Prepare and equip me for the coming week so that I may glorify you in my thoughts, words, and action. May I linger in your presence ever longer.
