New Beginning

Heavenly Father,

Like the first man after the first sin, I have hidden myself from you in my shame. The instinct of my broken heart is to cover myself that you may not see. I realize that my folly runs deep, but the actual depth of it eludes me. Teach my heart that your gaze is full of love. In your presence is grace and peace and the forgiveness of sin. The serpent may have bruised your heel, but you have crushed his head. Let me live out of your victory in the image of the second Adam. May the veil of sin be torn asunder that it may no longer separate me from you. And with it, remove the guilt and shame that keep me from running to be embraced by you.
