Patience

Heavenly Father,

You are not slow as some count slowness, yet your timing is not mine. I would leave out the seasons of waiting. I know that fulfillment is made sweeter by the times of longing, but I would prefer a lesser sweetness now. We wait for so many of the things we ask you for. Most of the time, we don’t understand why we are waiting. Your timing is perfect, but we are not. So give up patience that we may remain faithful and content. Fill us with hope that we will have the assurance of things unseen. And grant us joy that we may praise you in the midsts of waiting.
