Perfection and Confession

Heavenly Father,

You are perfection itself. In you is no darkness at all. Your very presence sears away all sin and iniquity. Yet, I am a man of an unclean heart among a people of unclean hearts. My sins are many so that I am not even aware of them all. I can feel the weight of my shortcomings. So I fall to my knees before you and begin to confess my sins. While I am still speaking, you embrace me. You abound in grace and mercy. You remove my vile iniquities and impute to me the righteousness of your glorious Son. I am restored to stand in your presence and offer the praises of a redeemed heart. Clothed in garments whiter than snow, I shout in thanksgiving to the God who was and is and is to come.

In the name of the only one whose blood can cleanse the soul. Amen.
