Perseverance

Heavenly Father,

Grant me perseverance. It is easy to shy away from things that are hard or that I don’t want to do. Help me to see the value in doing what you have called me to even when I don’t want to do them. Give me the strength to discipline my mind and body. When I don’t want to meet with you, bring to mind all the times that it was sweet and meaningful. When I want to be lazy, remind me of the joys of a job well done. Little by little, transform me into the man you have called me to be. When things are hard, empower me to sustained action. Instead of shying away, may I press in all the harder. Glorify yourself in the faithfulness you produce in my life.
