Returning Once Again

Heavenly Father,

Increase my hunger for you and my thirst for righteousness. Take my hard heart of stone and replace it with a heart of flesh. Overcome the impulse in me to run away and hide from your presence. This morning, may I bask in the loving glow of your glory. May my mind be consumed with your truth and my heart overflow with your love. Shower down grace so I may perceive your loving arms forever embracing me. I know that my status with you is secure in the sacrifice of Christ and sealed with your Holy Spirit. Yet, so often, I feel distant and abandoned. Teach my heart the truth that you are never far from me. Tear the veil of sin and rebellion that hides your beauty from me. Loving father, I am acutely aware of my desperate need for you. Give me yourself today that I may walk in your way. Make me a conduit of your blessing to all those I encounter.

In the precious name of him who became sin that I may become the righteousness of God. Amen.
