Shame

Heavenly Father,

I know you are holy. In you is no darkness at all. From before the beginning of time till after it ends, you exist without sin. I also know that I am not without sin. The shame of my real and perceived failures hinders my attempts to resist temptation. Banish shame from me. I am a new creation with a new heart and a renewed mind. I no longer carry the guilt of my old transgressions. As far as the east is from the west, so far have you removed my impurities from me. Help me to detest sin because though my sins were as crimson; you have made me white as snow. In my purity, I can choose to follow you. So don’t let me cling to the memory of my sin dragging me back into the same patterns.
