Slow Down

Heavenly Father,

Slow down my mind and heart. Help me put aside life's busyness and obligations while I bask in your presence. May this time be unhurried. Let me be still and know that you are God. I crave greater efficiency and productivity to do my work well. Do not let this extend to my connection with you. Teach me to treasure the moment and not pressure myself to perform fellowship. I long to simply be with you. Even as I pray, I feel the urge to rush through so that I may get on with my day. Give me the faith to trust in you for the coming day. Overcome my human impulse to try and control everything. You are God, and in you are pleasures for evermore. Let me invest my time as one building their house on the rock of you and not the sand of worldly principles.
