Slowing Down

Heavenly Father,

Help me to slow down. I am so consumed with things I must do and changes I must make that I don’t leave room for you. Quiet my mind and still my heart. Let me wait for you patiently. Push aside the intruding thoughts that I may be wholly in your presence. You are the Lord of hosts and are greatly to be praised. I lift your name to the heavens. None but you are worthy of honor and praise. Every good thing is a gift from you. May my thoughts long dwell on you today. Kindle my heart to burn with passion for your glory. Motivate me to do the things you have set before me. I am discouraged that I always fall short of my standards. But you rejoice with every step I take towards you. You run to catch me when I stumble. Transform me from the inside. Make me new once again. Return to me the fervor of my first love for you. Grant me your sight that I may love others as you do. I need you today.
