Stand on Truth

Heavenly Father,

I reach for words this morning, but they elude my grasp. My heart feels numb, neither hot nor cold. I have no recourse but to stand on the truth that I know to be true despite my subjective experience this morning. You are God, the holy one. You are full of grace and truth. Love shines forth from your presence like the radiance of your perfect glory. I am a creation of your hand, made in your very image. Like all after Adam, I was born into the bondage of sin and death. In my helpless state, you had compassion on me. You sent your son to live the perfect life and die in my place. I am now raised with him to walk in newness of life. You are my father, and I have a great inheritance as your son. Your spirit is my constant companion, a sign and seal. Reignite the embers in my heart. Show yourself clearly as I try to set my gaze upon you. Clear away all the parts of myself that do not call you Lord. I love you; help my lack of love.

In the only name given under heaven by which men can be saved. Amen.
