Still and Silent
Heavenly Father,
You are worthy of praise, but my heart is still. You are worthy of song, but my voice is silent. I feel like the seed being choked out by the cares of the world. Let me not be anxious about anything, but with prayer and supplication, may I lift my heart to you. Let me cast my cares upon you, for you care for me. The truth in my head doesn’t quite the rumblings of my heart. I need your spirit to calm me. Your provision is sufficient for me. I am created in your image, your adopted son. You delight in me even when I feel like a failure. You are the arbiter of reality; your pronouncement of forgiveness trumps my guilt and shame. Let me live out of my new identity in Christ. Crucify the lingering sin in my life. Put to death all that keeps me from feeling your love. Restore to me the joy of my salvation.
In the name of the great prophet, priest, and king. Amen.
