Sunday Prayer

Heavenly Father,

I lift this day to you. Bless this day of sabbath rest. Be with our church this morning. From the moment that the first person walks into the doors, may your spirit be working. Encourage the faint-hearted and comfort the suffering. Use the members of your body to exhort each other in love. May we reach out to those who do not yet know you as Lord and show them your truth and love. Be with the musicians leading worship. Fill their hearts with sincere affection for you. Give skill to their hands and voices. Pour out your truth through music into the hearts of everyone in the service. May our spirits be uplifted and our minds renewed. May the prayers of the pastor connect with our hearts so that we may echo them. May your word be declared in power. Let us marinate in the presence of your spirit. Challenge and empower us through the exposition of your holy scriptures. May we experience nearness with you in the partaking of the elements. May everyone in church feel your love and that of your body. Let us be transformed increasingly into the people who have made us to be.
