The Church

Heavenly Father,

I pray for your body, the church. Would you bring about unity and love between all the members. We are united in your son. Knit together the members into a fellowship of grace. May your love overflow from our hearts first to each other and then to the broader community you have placed us. Protect us from division and quarrels. When an offense is taken, make us quick to reconcile. Draw all those in leadership close to yourself so that they may shepherd the flock as you would. May the church remain steadfast in its following of your revealed will. I pray that your word would be proclaimed with boldness and a full measure of truth. Transform the minds and hearts of all to be more like you each day. Would the sacraments be administered in a way that channels your grace to all your people. Let our worship be genuine, drawing out praise from even the coldest hearts. Let us look out for each other, lifting those that stumble and encouraging those that mourn. Bring about the peace of your people.
