Trust

Heavenly Father,

I am but a transient vapor here today and gone tomorrow. You are eternal and unchanging from everlasting till everlasting. Still, I expect you to work within my timing. I feel like it takes forever for my requests to be answered. I know your plans are perfect, but when they don’t align with mine, I become impatient and frustrated. Grow within me a deeper faith that is assured of the things I hope for. Teach me contentment in all circumstances, not that I would stop hoping and praying but that I would experience your presence in the waiting. The Israelite who died just before Moses spoke to Pharaoh was no less a part of your plan than the one who witnessed the plagues and crossed the Red Sea. I long for many things. I lift them to you in confidence that you will give me what is best. You have always provided the daily bread that I need, and you have never given me a reason to doubt you. I do not know the significance of my life, but you have ordained it from before the foundation of the world. So I choose to trust in you.

In the name of the way, truth, and life. Amen.
