Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father,

You are the God whose words formed everything from the chaotic waters. And this is the day that you have made. So today, we offer you glory, honor, and praise. We thank you for your mighty deeds of old and in our current time. You promised your works of redemption from the time of the fall. You spoke to your people leading and guiding them through good times and bad. We have failed you more times than we are even aware, and we are aware of plenty. Yet your grace is greater than our sin, and the death and resurrection of your son triumphed over all evil and death. So we come before you and nail our sins to the cross. We acknowledge that our acts would doom us, but we claim the blood. Wash us clean. Restore our fellowship and connection to you and each other. Protect us from the wiles of the evil one and all temptation. Give us pure hearts that desire to do your will. Renew our minds in your truth that we may think about things that are praiseworthy and good. Strengthen our bodies and resolve that we may carry your love into this fallen world.
