Waiting
Heavenly Father,
I sit this morning and wait for you. Please do not be long in coming. My soul is parched and needs to be refreshed by your living water. My mind is confused and needs to be renewed by your word of truth. My body is weary and needs your rest. My desires for you are inadequate to who you are. Give me a deeper passion for fellowship with you. I recognize my need, Father. Help me to feel it that I may be delighted when you come. Do not let the comforts of life try to substitute for the things that only you can bring. You are the great and glorious God. Beside you there is no other. Your wisdom is complete and perfect. Your power is unrivaled. You sit in heaven and do exactly as you please. Fearing you is the beginning of wisdom. Worshiping you is the heart of joy itself. Fellowship with you is our great end. So I ask again, do not be long in coming. Illuminate your word so that its truths may sink deep into my heart.
In the name above every name. Amen.
